As much as we'd love to keep up on the blog, we are finding less and less time to do some of the other fun things - like informing everyone on Gwen's happenings...and the whole Williamson family :)
Since the last post, Gwen made her first visit to Urgent Care, took a lap around the neighborhood in her stroller, tried rice cereal (see photo) and began using her jumperoo! We also had our first mother/daughter alone weekend (Dad was in Vegas with friends glued to every big screen TV that had a March Madness game!)
Urgent Care went better than expected, just the start of an ear infection and some congestion. They gave us some pink fruity flavored medicine and sent us on our way. She's become a real pro at taking it morning and night.
When the weather decided to be more 'Spring like' last week it seemed to be the perfect time to get Gwen experiencing the outdoors. For most of her life she's seen the underside of a blanket every time we go outside. From her vantage point there wasn't a ton to see, no leaves on the trees and the sky was overcast - but the fresh air really did her well and she fell fast asleep after just a few blocks.
The rice cereal didn't go over all that well, she gagged and made faces..all of which were captured on home video (of course). We'll try again soon and see what happens.
The jumperoo was a real surprise to us. Dad picked Gwenie up from daycare one day to find her just bouncing up and down and trying to stand and jump around. So, we took hers out of the box and put it together. She loves it and tries to get her face down to suck on all of the toys attached to the tray.
The saving grace has been the vibrating bouncy chair (as I'm sure most parents know), this thing is a god sent. We are able to do just about anything around the house and have her just sit there watching. She's almost outgrown it, so hopefully the jumperoo takes its place until she really becomes mobile.
Other than that we are really enjoying every minute we have with her. She's always such a happy, smiley girl. Not much makes her mad, but she has started to show some attitude when things are not going her way. Right now it's really cute, but I'm sure there will come a time when we have to stop laughing at her and get serious. Every day she finds her voice a little more and can't get enough of the big, furry thing that sniffs her all the time and runs circles so fast she can't look back and forth fast enough :)
Next week we'll have family visitors and we can't wait to see their reaction to how big our beautiful Gwenie has gotten.
