I was hoping to snap a quick pic of Gwenie and her new found freedom, but no such luck yet. The video camera has captured a few of Gwenie's steps, which is pretty funny - between my verbal excitement and trying to shoo Ozzie away so he doesn't knock her over, it could make a Funniest Home Video episode. Last night it was about 4 steps and 24 hours later she's quadrupled that. How amazing..really! She's very determined to keep up with Ruby and Olivia, her friends at daycare.
We had a good weekend, the weather cooperated and we did some yard work and visited some friends. Gwen had her first official play date with the Scanlon girls...although Margo slept through our visit, Ava was more than happy to show Gwen all of her cool toys.
We look forward to the big 1st birthday coming up. I can't say this enough, but wow - where did that year go? Gwen is such a big girl! She loves music and trying to move to the beat, opening and closing doors and drawers and especially the remote. Not just any remote either, it has to be the one we actually use. Smart girl. We've installed the baby locks and rearranged the kitchen so that Gwen has her own drawer to play with. We hope she doesn't learn to open the stove, the Lazy Susan or the pantry -for surely in trouble then! I have visions of finding her stuck in the Lazy Susan cupboard...just spinning herself around.
