I can hardly stand it. Gwendolyn will be 2 years old in just a few short weeks. I have NO clue where the last 2 years has gone. We have had so much fun, learned so much -far more than you can read in any book to be fully prepared- and loved every minute of it....well, 99.9% of it anyway!
We dealt with our first bout of stomach flu this past weekend that ran rampant at daycare. Not to worry, the next morning we woke to MAAAAAMEEE and DAAAAADEEE. It was like nothing had happened the night before. Amazing.
These days we find it hard to understand what Gwen is actually saying. There are keys words that we know, but most of them we can't figure out yet. It's frustrating, but so fun to hear her chattering away and being excited about so many different things.
Going to the "wee" (aka park) has become a favorite past-time. We literally live between 3 parks, so when we go on a walk it's almost impossible to avoid having to stop for a few trips down the slides and on the swings. Gwen really, really enjoys Barney. We enjoy getting hugs and kisses at the end of the show, when they sing the "I love you, you love me, etc." I'm sure you all know it, come on! Believe it or not, she likes Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the old school one -except when the girl turns into a blueberry, that's scary to her), and the Wizard of Oz. She's beginning to use crayons without trying to eat them and ocasionally using the potty when she has to go "peeps" - short for pee pee.
Her memory is amazing, she doesn't miss a beat on anything. I've said that several times, but she's so in tune with everything around her. She repeats actions (such as give the dog a little spank when he's done something bad or won't move out of her way) and tries with the words as best she can. We are working very hard to clean up our mouths around here. It's only a matter of time before something at daycare gets repeated in the right context and is inappropriate. yikes!
Hope everyone is well, Happy October!
