Growing fast

I'm sure everyone is shocked when they look at the calendar and August begins this weekend. Really?? Where does the time go AND how many times have I said that? Gwen will be 9 months next week and we still can't believe how quickly she's growing and learning new things.

Gwenie is quite the crawler these days. She motors wherever she wants to go and loves to chase Ozzie. He's learned to get out of her way! She's kind of like Road Runner, except not up on her legs yet (well, walking that is). She loves to stand up on whatever she can. Sometimes she has trouble getting back down to her bum to keep cruising, so we are sure to keep a look out for the face that surely follows when she knows she's stuck.

A few new words (sounds) have popped up in the past week. She says mama, dada (indiscriminately still), baba and some other gibberish that's pretty cute. The other morning I walked into her room to find her standing in her crib, trying to bounce up and down.

Swimming class is going pretty well. Sometimes she isn't crazy about going under water, but if you make a funny sound and laugh she soon forgets what happened. We had to miss this week, as Gwenie is under the weather with an ear infection, teething and a cold. Having a sick baby is no fun, although we do enjoy the extra cuddling.

Tonight we put Gwen in the big tub for the first time. She absolutely loved to splash around and play with her ducky and hippo, as you'll see. I was pretty soaked by the time she was done.

Another busy month is upon us, hopefully we'll find time to share more pics of our beautiful Gwen.
