Poop on Michigan!

It's amazing (and sad) how quickly babies change in the course of 2 weeks. Looking back at Gwen's first pictures, her physical appearance is not so 'newborn' anymore. Her umbilical cord is gone and healed too! She's also just about stretching her newborn clothes to their seams. We can't flip down the mitts on her onesies anymore without bending her arms. Doh!

Gwen's first official head to toe exam took place last Friday. She gained 11 oz. in 6 days, weighing in at 8.8 lbs. Her length (I don't dare say height because it's not like we stood her up to measure her) is in the 75th percentile and her weight and head circumference are average on the charts. She doesn't have to go back to the doctor until her 2 month check-up, where there are going to be shots involved and a lot of tissues for mom and dad.

A few other big things happened around the Williamson house this weekend. Gwen was given her first bath by mom and dad, as well as the Buckeye game on Saturday was a success.

For those of you not up to speed on the history of Ohio State, their biggest rival and single most important game of the year was yesterday - against Michigan. The Buckeye's took care of business and clobbered the Wolverines - beating the 3 touchdown spread they were given. phew. Gwen again, sported her scarlet and gray for the occasion.

The bath also went extremely well. Gwen only cried while being undressed. Once she hit the water, she didn't make a sound. Nate and I were very nervous, but she was great. She did decide to tinkle once we were drying her off, but crisis averted - we were able to contain it and get a diaper on asap. Better than in the bath water I guess!

The past 2 nights she's only woken up once to eat, she definitely likes sleeping in mom and dad's bed......that won't last long, I know - but it's nice right now to be able to sleep for 4 hour chunks at a time.

She's more alert for longer periods during the day and has found out she can make noises with her tongue. Again, we find ourselves just watching her in amazement - she's gorgeous and so much fun...even at 4:00 AM.

We'll post again soon!
